Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:
The College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah organized a seminar titled "Synthesis, Characterization, and Pharmacological Evaluation of New 2-amino-4-thiazolidinone Compounds," in a lecture presented by Pharmacist Raghda Mohammed Al-Waswasi.
The seminar included the synthesis of new Thiazolidinone compounds with analgesic and anti-inflammatory therapeutic properties, with minimal side effects such as ulceration. These compounds were prepared through a series of reactions, and their chemical structures were characterized using several methods.
The results showed that all the synthesized compounds reduced paw edema volume in mice with statistically significant natural differences. They also demonstrated very good analgesic activities and were safe in terms of not causing any gastric ulcers compared to the control compounds.
