Basrah - College of Pharmacy Media:
The Crisis Cell at the University of Basrah delivered 400 Viral Transport Media (VTM) for the detection of suspected cases, produced by the University of Basrah, to the Muthanna Health Directorate, in order to actively contribute to the prevention of the Coronavirus pandemic outbreak in the governorates of Iraq.
The Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Falah Hassan Shari, stated that the Muthanna Health Directorate was given 400 viral transport media with 400 medical swabs. These media were delivered in the presence of the World Health Organization representative, Dr. Awatif Al-Iqabi, the President of the University of Basrah, the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, and the research staff producing these media. This step comes in solidarity with the Iraqi governorates in facing the health crisis that has afflicted all cities of Iraq.
On a related note, the transport medium manufactured at the College of Pharmacy at the University of Basrah has been well-received by health circles, as it was requested by the governorates of Nineveh, Kirkuk, Najaf, and Karbala in order to avoid the outbreak of the virus in those governorates.
